Route features
You will cycle from 25 to 45 km. The kilometres indicated for the cycle tours are approximate. The cycle tour is suitable for people with average fitness level. You will cycle on paved or asphalted cycle ways, on very lightly-trafficked agricultural roads as well as on unpaved trails leading through forests or fields.

There will also be short legs along heavy-trafficked roads. The terrain is mostly flat, though there are some slopes to cope with.

Day-by-Day Itinerary


Day 1: Arrival in Brandýs nad Labem

Individual arrival in Brandýs nad Labem. Embarkation from 4 pm. Approx. 3pm there will be a ground transfer service (no bikes) at the airport via main station, which takes you directly to the ship (Transfer duration approx. 75 minutes).

Day 2: Brandýs – Nymburk, Cycle Tour approx. 35 km, shipping to Brandys

From the bustling town of Brandys nad Labem with its magnificent castle you cycle to the beautiful Elbe town of Nymburk. The magnificent city fortification was partly rebuilt at the beginning of the last century. The Elbe bridge, built in 1912, spans the river against the picturesque backdrop of a small town. On a tour through the old town, the former royal town inspires you with a multitude of interesting historical buildings and monuments.

3: Boat Tour Brandýs – M?lník, Cycle Tour alongside the Vltava River from M?lník to Nelahozeves and back, approx. 52 km

In the early morning it is time to cast off! Aboard the MS Florentina you sail to the royal town of M?lník. Here you start for the Vltava-cycle tour to the Veltrusý Park, a vast landscape park with numerous sculptures and pavilions. Afterwards you cycle to the Nelahozeves Castle, which is among the most famous Renaissance castles of Bohemia and is also referred to as the “Little Louvre of the Czech Republic”. Tip: Visit the castle and Antonin Dvo?ák`s birthplace. From here cycle back to the quaint town of M?lník.

Day 4: Boat Tour M?lník – Roudnice – Litom??ice, Cycle Tour M?lník – Roudnice, approx. 26 km

This morning you have plenty of time to explore the lovely charming town of M?lník with its pastel-coloured façades. Tip: Visit the proud castle, which towers over the Elbe River offering a marvellous panoramic view over the confluence of the Vlatwa and Elbe rivers. From here, cycle almost always alongside the Elbe via Vlin?ves, Ra?ice and Dob?ín to Roudnice, today`s destination. At around 6 pm, the ship sails to Litom??ice.

Day 5: Litom??ice, Day of Rest or Cycle Tour to Ustí and back, approx. 53 km

A day at leisure. Discover one of the most beautiful Czech towns, the royal town of Litom??ice. The colourful Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque buildings in the town centre, which for the most part is encircled by well-preserved Gothic fortifications, will enchant you. Well-worth seeing: Baroque Cathedral of St Stephen atop the dome hill, the historic underground (extensive tunnel system) or the Bishop’s residence.

You might also be interested in an individual visit to the Terezín Memorial (Theresienstadt) in the village of Terezìn. The concentration camp memorial is located only 5 km away. The more advanced cyclists may feel to cycle to Ustí – idyllically situated in the narrow valley of the Elbe river – You will come by the Bohemian Gate and by the old castle ruin of Schreckenstein. Overnight the MS FLORENTINA will be moored in Litom??ice.

Day 6: Boat Tour Litom??ice – M?lník – Brandys nad Labem, Cycle Tour M?lník – Brandýs nad Labem, approx. 30 km

In the morning sail once more to the quaint town of M?lník, perched on a hill overlooking the confluence of the Vltava and Elbe rivers. Today`s cycle tour leads partly alongside the untouched banks of the Elbe, though woods, quiet wetlands and small villages but also along quiet country roads to Brandýs nad Labem.

Day 7: Brandýs nad Labem, bus Transfer to Prague and back

Today, the Golden City of Prague is on the agenda. After breakfast, there will be a bus transfer to Prague. Arrived, you will have free time to explore the city individually. In the afternoon the bus transfer will bring you back to the ship.

Day 8: Departure from Brandýs nad Labem

Disembarkation after breakfast, till 09:30am. At 8:00am there will be a ground transfer service (no bikes) that will take you to from the ship to Prague main station and following to the airport (Transfer duration approx. 75 minutes).

About the MS Florentina

Built in 1980 and completely refurbished in 2014, the MS FLORENTINA is a cosy and comfortable middle-class ship. The Czech chef prepares national good home cooking and international dishes, which will be served in the bright, friendly restaurant with bar. Both the little lounge next to the reception and the saloon with its panoramic windows on the upper deck offer comfortable seating areas.

Rest and relax you find on the deck chairs on the large sun deck. The ship features 16 twin cabins (approx.10 sq m) and 4 single cabins (approx. 8 sq m) with French balcony (opening windows) on the upper deck, and 24 twin cabins (ca. 10 sq m) and 2 single cabins(ca. 8 sq m) on the main deck (windows cannot be opened).

All 46 cabins are outside cabins and have en-suite shower facilities. They all also include a central air condition with individually adjustable ventilation, hairdryers, TV’s and safes. There is W-LAN on board (please note that the connection is not always available).

Bike hire on board: smooth-running 7 speed-unisex-city bikes made by Velo de Ville (custom built for SE-tours) with hand- and back pedal brakes or 7 speed freewheel hubs (subject to availability) and with pannier bags. Electric bikes (limited number available – early booking required). On booking, please tell us your body height.

We offer a small excursion programme that can be booked directly on board at the cruise director only. You will get a brief description together with your travel documents. Depending on the number of participants, some excursions could be carried out in 2 languages (German/ English)

Luggage on board:

We recommend waterproof rain gear, bike helmet, sun hat and sports shoes.

Alterations of schedule or programme: subject to change. In the event that because of low or high water levels or adverse weather conditions a route cannot be taken, the captain reserves the right to change the route for your safety (this would not be a reason for fee-free cancellation). Please note for your tour planning that due to numerous locks, the ship will always be slower than a cyclist.

Travel documents: EU-citizens (without special situations like dual citizenship, main residence abroad or a limited-validity passport) are required to have a valid passport or ID-card, not expiring within six (6) months of the return of your cruise. We kindly ask non-EU citizens, EU-nationals with multiple citizenship or anybody who has to respect special legal entry requirements for the country to visit, to inform about visa and entry documents at the competent embassy.

This trip is not suitable for guests with reduced mobility.
