Salzkammergut Cycling Holidays, Austria

The Salzkammergut is more widely known as ‘Austria’s Lake District’ and is a wonderful place to cycle in Austria as you will explore beautiful lakes, mountain views and traffic-free cycle paths.

What is lovelier than being out and about, cycling along the banks of lakes, and just letting your spirit soar in a marvellous natural landscape? The cycling tours through the Salzkammergut and the Trumer Seen lake area are wonderfully suited for this. Only a few kilometres beyond Salzburg, you will be greeted by the luxury of a unique natural panorama.

The gentle, hilly landscape of Salzburg’s alpine foothills has a charm all of its own. You will cycle through meadows and moorlands to Oberndorf – the place associated with the Christmas carol “Silent Night” – and also to the old imperial town of Bad Ischl.
