Germany is one of the best cycling holiday destinations in Europe. There are 70,000 km of cycle routes in Germany compared to 21,000km in the UK. Many are well signposted, enjoy super-smooth tarmac and enable you to do point-to-point rides between iconic cities.
There are 200 long distance routes available in Germany and Wheel2Wheel Holidays have chosen a selection of cycle routes in different parts of Germany to choose from. Many give you the chance to explore romantic cities, stunning river paths and experience the local culture en-route.
In 2013, we will have German cycling holidays in the following regions…
|Elbe Cycle Path||Germany||Self Guided||8 days||£459||Book|
|Romance of the Rhine||Germany||Self Guided||8 days||£439||Book|
Bavaria is the largest state in Germany and Munich is the largest city in the region. The city is probably more widely known for its football, local beers and BMW, however Munich is also a fantastic city for cycling and the region as a whole has several long distance paths that are ideal for doing a cycle tour.
Munich is one of the best cities in Europe and offers so much in one compact city. Steven Rittey from Wheel2Wheel Holidays says “Munich is probably the place he feels most at home at in Europe.” The surrounding region is beautiful and Garmisch-Partenkirchen is well worth a visit.
Arriving in Munich is straightforward. You can fly to Munich Franz Josef Airport in just over 2 hours from the UK. However, you can also fly to Memmingen ‘Munich West’ and take the hour transfer by bus or train.
|Munich Lakes||Germany||Self Guided||8 days||£629||Book|
|Munich Lakes||Germany||Self Guided||5 days||£389||Book|
|Munich to Salzburg||Germany||Self Guided||8 days||£659||Book|
