The Danube Cycle Path is one of the best cycle paths in Europe and follows the course of the river from Germany to the Black Sea. The route is one of the most popular for cycle-tourism and benefits from a gentle gradient, great surfaces and numerous places to stop-off and visit en-route.
Our most popular option is from Passau to Vienna. The route is 200 miles/300 km long and is enjoyed best by going from Passau to Vienna between 5 and 8 days. You can start in the Baroque town of Scharding or in Passau where 3 rivers converge. We recommend Passau because of the pedestrian / car-free central area.
You will then cycle through the various districts of Upper Austria and reach the Austrian capital Vienna where you can spend a couple of days or even take part in a wine themed ending to the tour in the vineyards surrounding the city.
