Day-by-Day Cycling Holiday Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival to Dresden

Individual arrival to Dresden, distribution of rental bikes (if booked) and welcome briefing in the hotel. Afterwards possibility to stroll through the baroque old city of Dresden. Discover the well known beauty and magic of the city with places of interest as Zwinger, Church of Our Lady and Semper opera.

Day 2: Dresden – Meißen approx. 25 km

You cycle in the Elbe valley along the Saxon vineyards and pass the city of Radebeul, which is associated with Karl May. Within a few more kilometres you reach Meißen. The picturesque alleys of the historic old city invite for a stroll. Worthwhile: Albrechtsburg and the world famous Meissen chine manufacture!

Day 3: Through the wine villages from Meißen – Riesa approx. 35 km

Today you go a bit more through Germany’s most northern vineyards. Taste the regional wines! The baroque castle Diesbar-Seußlitz with its wonderful park is a good place for rest. Accommodation is in the sport-town Riesa.

Day 4: Riesa – Torgau approx. 45 km

You follow river Elbe downstream to Mühlberg with former Cistercian monastery and Electoral Saxony’s milepost. You should not miss the Treblitz Tree Park with trees and bushes from five continents. Destination of the day is Torgau with nice town hall in renaissance style, residence palace Hartenfels and church St. Marien.

Day 5: Along the tracks of Martin Luther to Wittenberg approx. 65 km

From Saxony-Anhalt you cycle via palace Lichtenberg and Pretzsch in direction Wittenberg. After your arrival in the city where Martin Luther posted his theses, you have the possibility to make a trip down memory lane. The Luther Hall, Wittenberg’s most interesting building, has the biggest historic collection on the Reformation. The old city of Wittenberg was restored lovely too. The beautiful shops and restaurants are guaranteeing a wonderful evening.

Day 6: Wittenberg – Bad Belzig approx. 40 km

You cycle through the national park “Hoher Fläming” to the brine health resort Bad Belzig. Visit the fortress Eisenhardt and the romantic old town or relax in the thermal spa Bad Belzig.

Day 7: Bad Belzig – Potsdam approx. 55 km

Today you cycle via Baitz and Beelitz, the asparagus growing area, to Potsdam. Experience the fascinating UNESCO world culture heritage of the town or history of film in the film-studio Babelsberg!

Day 8: Individual departure or extension

We understand that well made bikes are essential for an enjoyable cycling holiday. All bikes are based on technology from leading Austrian bike manufacturer ‘KTM’ and serviced by an expert mechanic.

The bikes use good quality components to give you confidence in the bike on your holiday and comfortable riding on varied cycle paths and roads.

About the bikes

You will be given an easily identifiable, solid and sturdy aluminum trekking bike with V-brakes, solid wheels, almost puncture resistant tyres. Each bike has been built through continuous development and feedback from customers.

Each bike is also fitted with a dynamo lighting system for ease, handlebar bag, pannier, mudguards and comfortable saddle made by Selle Royal.

You can also bring your own saddle and adapter with you (diameter of seat post from 27, 2 to 31, 4 mm). We help you with the fitting of saddles and SPD shoes should you require assistance.

Gear systems

7-gear-bikes are equipped with Shimano NEXUS gear hub. Gears can be changed anytime even whilst stationary.

21-gear-bikes are equipped with Shimano ALIVIO derailleur. The ALIVIO system is robust and easy to use.

Frame sizes

The following frame sizes are available on tours with the bikes shown in the picture:

Unisex frame 21-gears with free wheel. Sizes: 56 / 51 / 46 / 43 cm
Unisex 7-gears-bikes with back pedal brake. Sizes: 56 / 51 / 46 cm

Men’s speed bikes 21-gears with freewheel and crossbar. Sizes: 64 / 60 / 56 “sloping crossbar” cm
(Must be reserved in advance!)
