Day-by-Day Cycling Holiday Itinerary


Day 1: Arrival to Copenhagen
Arrival to Copenhagen on your own initiative during the day. Let the charming city of Copenhagen inspire you and take a walk around the old harbor.

Day 2: Copenhagen – Køge
Distance: approx. 55 km

Cycle through Copenhagen and to the city beaches. Then follow Køge Bay on the shore-based route during which you pass various small villages along the bikeway to Køge.

Day 3: Køge – Møn Island
Distance: approx. 50/68 km

Take the train in the morning (on your own initiative) which takes you to Rødvig. Either you cycle along Faxe Bay to Praestø and then to Mon Island or you cycle in the direction of the west coast of Zealand (Great Belt) to Naestved. Overnight stay in Stege or Naestved.

Day 4: Mon Island – Nykøbing / Falster
Distance: approx. 65 km

Today’s route stage runs from Mon Island to Bogø Island, on the ferry to Stubbekøbing (on your own initiative) and then to Nykøbing. You can also follow the west coast via Vordingsborg to Falster. Overnight stay in Nykøbing / Falster.

Day 5: Nykøbing / Falster – Rostock
Distance: approx. 40 km

Passing the holiday region around Marielyst you continue to the ferry in Gedser which takes you to Rostock (incl.). The travel time on the ferry is approx. 2 hours. A bikeway leads directly into town and to your hotel. Overnight stay in Rostock.

Day 6: Rostock – Güstrow/Krakow or surrounding
Distance: approx. 54-84 km

Leave Rostock to the south. Then partly follow Warnow Valley (Warnowtal) and Nebel Valley (Nebeltal) whilst cycling on the idyllic paths to the Barlach town Güstrow. Overnight stay in Güstrow or Krakow or in the surrounding region.

Day 7: Güstrow/Krakow or surrounding – Waren
Distance: approx. 50-80 km

The upcoming route runs through the slightly wavy landscape of Mecklenburg Switzerland. Your destination is Waren at Müritz Lake, gate to the Müritz National Park.

Day 8: Waren – Neustrelitz
Distance: approx. 65 km

A big part of this route stage is the path through Müritz National Park. On your way you have the chance to observe the aeries near Federow. Overnight stay in Neustrelitz or in the surrounding region.

Day 9: Neustrelitz – Fürstenberg / Zehdenick or surrounding
Distance: approx. 45-65 km

Back to the course of the Havel River, follow the young river to Woblitzsee (Lake Woblitz) and cycle through Wesenberger Seenkreuz. From here you either cycle to Fürstenberg / Havel or further to Zehdenick or surrounding.

Day 10: Fürstenberg / Zehdenick or surrounding – Oranienburg
Distance: approx. 35-65 km

On your way you again get to cycle on Havel River. Finally you reach the city of Oranienburg located north of Berlin. In Oranienburg you can take the commuter train (S-Bahn) to Berlin Mitte (city center), if you like to visit this vibrant city.

Day 11: Departure from Oranienburg
Departure takes place after breakfast and on your own initiative.

This tour starts in Copenhagen. This is a tour for everybody, flat through mostly silent landscapes, on bike paths and side roads. In parts you have to figure on wind!
