Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: ARRIVAL DAY

Transfer or independent arrival to Alghero.

Day 2: Capo Caccia loop (54 km)

Ride along the narrow streets of Alghero, the splendid Aragonese (Spanish) city on the Coral Riviera, where locals still speak the ancient Catalan dialect. Cycle to Capo Caccia and explore the Nettuno caves.

Day 3: Alghero – Bosa (50 km)

From Alghero, bike along a scenic road above the cliffs overlooking the sea and admire the view of the gulf of Alghero and Capo Caccia. Emotions continue as you catch a glimpse of
the cliffs of Cape Marargiu, over which the last examples of griffin vultures circle.

Day 4: Bosa – Santu Lussurgiu (55 km)

Today’s route is flanked by vineyards and olive groves as far as Flussio and Tinnura. Then on through the pasturelands of Sagama, until you reach the springs of San Leonardo, the area
richest in water of the whole of Sardinia.

Day 5: Santu Lussurgiu – San Salvatore Sinis (54 km). Today the route takes you back to the sea with a panoramic descent towards the flat coastal plains of the Sinis wetlands.
Cycle past the colonies of the pink flamingos and finally reach one of the most beautiful spots on the island: the white quartz beach of Is Arutas.

Day 6: Rest day

A short trip down the peninsula brings you to San Giovanni Sinis. Visit the fascinating Phoenician ruins of Tharros with a history of inhabitation stretching back over 2,500 years and the early Christian church of San Giovanni.

Day 7: Costa Verde and dunes of Piscinas (46/54 km).

After a transfer to Arborea, you will cycle through the natural beauty spots of the Costa Verde to the Piscinas beach with its
sands dunes over 50 m high – some of the highest in Europe.

Day 8: The mines of Sulcis (41 km)

This leg takes you back into the ancient mining past of Sardinia. After the golden beach of Portixeddu and looming mass of Pan di Zucchero cliff, you admire the old ore washery at Nebida.

Day 9: The island of Carloforte (43 km)

After a beautiful descent to Fontanamare, you will reach Portoscuso, and board on the ferry to Carloforte, where locals still fish the Red Tuna fish. From Carloforte, continue to the
island of Sant’Antioco and end your day in Calasetta.

Day 10: Town and island of Sant’Antioco (40 km).

Riding through vineyards and olive grows savour the quiet peace of the rolling plains of Sulcis. At Tratalias, visit the Pisan
sanctuary, one of the most important monuments of the ardinian Romanesque period.

Day 11: The South Coast (57 km)

Final catwalk of your tour is the beautiful Costa del Sud with its gleaming white beaches.

Day 12: DEPARTURE DAY

Depart after breakfast, end of services.
